Multi-Party Collaboration

Paramount to the 5P collaborative success is uniting around two critical elements:

  • Focusing on a compelling joint purpose.
  • Adopting a compact process for interaction.

In order to realize these two goals, one possible way forward is to leverage an already existing recognized framework, like the set of Seven Principles.*

This method has proven its ability to create value-generating multiparty agreements in political and business scenarios.

The framework of the Seven Principles in brief reads as follows:

Parties are sharing interests whilst co-creating options for possible solutions. Acknowledging the importance of interpersonal relationships & communication, the dialogue is anchored on robust grounds of fairness and legitimacy. Once alternatives are considered (and discarded), the group finally concurs on a set of joint solutions and acts upon commitments.

Applying these elements in real-life scenarios is much less of a linear process than it is an art of juggling all of them simultaneously — with a mindset of creating an environment of collaboration & trust.
